    Understanding Achensee weather

    Pertisau sits at about 930 metres on the western shore of the Achensee, between the Karwendel and Rofan mountains. Summer days of 20 to 28 °C are typical, nights stay pleasantly cool. The lake is clear and rather cold; in high summer the water reaches about 18 to 20 °C.

    In the afternoon a thermal wind often picks up, which makes the Achensee popular with sailors and kitesurfers. On hot days thunderstorms can build over the mountains; they arrive quickly and usually move on just as fast.

    On very rainy, cold or quiet days we sometimes close earlier.
